Structural Profile of the TCM-Klinik Bad Kötzting
摘要
This article reports on the organisational structure of the TCM-Klinik Bad Kötzting. It describes the hospital’s structure, personnel, contracts and scientific conditions, as well as its historical development and the challenges it faces. The clinic’s medical concept and multimodal approach are also explained in detail. The four components—psychosomatics, Western medicine, lifestyle medicine and traditional Chinese medicine—are presented and their diagnostic and therapeutic processes, possible interactions and additions concerning psychosomatic features are explained. The unique characteristics of the traditional Chinese medicine medical approach are outlined. Specific procedures, such as acupuncture, TCM medication, Qigong and Tuina, are also illustrated. Furthermore, the significance of lifestyle medicine as a form of individual health management (IHM) within the broader concept of mental health treatment is explained and supported by existing literature. This is also consistent with TCM teachings on lifestyle regulation, known as Yang Sheng, which have long played an important role in general health maintenance. The clinic’s most common indication is patients with functional and somatoform disorders. In this area, acupuncture, Tuina massage and Qigong are important complementary analgesic and relaxation therapies that support TCM medication and psychotherapeutic interventions. The clinic’s processes, including indication clarification, therapy planning, therapy goals, inpatient therapy and evaluation, are mostly represented using graphical illustrations. Post-inpatient and outpatient activities are also briefly described.
