Basic Principles of Non-cooperative Game Theory in Legal Context

Part II presents the non-cooperative game theory in legal context and it contains two chapters: this chapter and Chap. 4 . This chapter introduces the basic principles of the non-cooperative game theory in legal context and guides the reader through modeling problems and solving them. This chapter explains how to model a problem through extensive-form games and strategic-form games, with explanations on, inter alia, game trees, strategies, win–win games symmetric games, repeated games, mixed strategies, prisoner's dilemmas and multi-player games. This chapter also explains how to solve legal problems using non-cooperative game theory with explanations, inter alia, on dominant strategies, Nash equilibrium, maxmin, backward induction and neutralizing threats.
