Agentic AI Supporting Procurement in Service Organizations
摘要
Organizations that offer services operate in a constantly changing environment. They must be flexible, generate new ideas, and reallocate resources continuously. These organizations now have a significant opportunity with the advent of agentic AI (AAI). AAI, an artificial intelligence (AI) system that manages itself and works toward goals, can sense, think, act, and learn. This chapter classifies the potential applications of AAI based on its dynamic capabilities (sensing, perceiving, and adapting) and modes of implementation (human-driven, autonomous, and hybrid). It examines how AAI enhances dynamic capabilities in various service areas, especially procurement. AAI’s ability to streamline operations, improve real-time market knowledge, automate processes to seize opportunities through informed decision-making, and enable continuous change through self-learning technologies is a beacon of hope for the future of service organizations. This classification helps evaluate the benefits and drawbacks of using AAI and its adaptability and sustainability. This new classification is necessary to determine how AAI can assist service organizations in procurement. It highlights how AAI can streamline operations, improve customer service, and resolve ethical considerations.
