Assessment and Examination of Electromagnetic Radiation at DVB-T Broadcast Sites of the Greek Public Broadcasting Corporation
摘要
The widespread adoption of digital terrestrial television broadcasting, in conjunction with the ongoing expansion of Greece’s network infrastructure, has intensified concerns regarding the potential adverse effects associated with prolonged exposure to radio frequency electromagnetic fields (RF-EMFs), particularly among vulnerable population groups. The present study investigates RF-EMF emissions originating from three digital terrestrial television transmission sites operated by Greece’s national public broadcasting organization. Measurements of radiofrequency electric field strength and power density were conducted within both the near-field and far-field regions of the transmission antennas. The collected data from the three sites were subsequently compared with corresponding measurements reported by the Greek Atomic Energy Commission (EEAE) and evaluated against the exposure limit guidelines established by the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP).
