This chapter examines the contemporary environmental crisis through social contract theory, drawing on Hobbes, Locke, and Rousseau to interpret the triple planetary crisis as a renewed state of nature marked by insecurity, institutional fragility, and civilizational tensions. It establishes parallels between classical contractarian thought and the ecological transition, understood as an inevitable process of socioenvironmental reconfiguration without a predetermined direction. Adopting an interdisciplinary approach, the chapter argues that this transition constitutes a critical moment for reconsidering the foundations of society and for the emergence of a new social contract.

摘要
