Knocking on Heaven’s Door? Religious, Ethical and Political Reflections on the New Paths to God in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
摘要
This paper integrates classical definitions of religion with contemporary understandings of artificial intelligence to show how their intersection raises new ethical and theological concerns. Case studies, including prayer apps, AI-generated sermons, chatbots, and virtual worship, illustrate emerging, technologically mediated “paths to God.” The Rome Call for AI Ethics, an interreligious and multi-stakeholder initiative, serves as a key reference point for understanding how diverse actors articulate shared commitments to human dignity and responsibility in response to these developments. The article emphasizes the need for ongoing dialogue among technologists, religious authorities, and policymakers to ensure that AI innovation aligns with enduring moral and spiritual values, fostering ethical, responsible, and inclusive technological progress.
