With the rapid development of the electrolytic manganese industry, the demand for manganese in industrial applications continues to grow. However, many challenges in the electrolytic process still need to be resolved. This paper summarizes manganese leaching technologies and impurity removal techniques from leaching solutions, including acid leaching, ultrasonic-assisted leaching, ammonia leaching, reductive leaching, solvent extraction, and chemical precipitation. The study finds that despite significant breakthroughs in manganese leaching and impurity removal, issues such as low leaching efficiency, environmental pollution, equipment corrosion, and difficulties in impurity elimination remain major challenges in electrolytic manganese production. This review provides a theoretical foundation and technical outlook for research on manganese leaching and impurity removal from leaching solutions.
