Digitalization and the adoption of innovative technologies are radically reshaping the global tourism industry, opening new opportunities for increasing competitiveness, improving service quality, and ensuring sustainable development. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI), big data analytics, blockchain, mobile applications, and immersive technologies such as virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) provides a foundation for the modernization of tourism services and management practices. These technologies enhance personalization, improve decision-making, and reduce operational costs for tourism companies. Online platforms and e-commerce systems accelerate the process of selecting, booking, and consuming tourism services, while digital marketing and social networks strengthen destination promotion and shape consumer perceptions. This article presents a comprehensive analysis of the role of digital technologies in tourism transformation, with a particular focus on the national context of Turkmenistan. The study reviews relevant academic literature, international practices, and applied cases in the field of digital tourism, highlighting the strategic directions for implementing digital solutions. Special emphasis is placed on the Avaza National Tourist Zone as a central driver of tourism development in Turkmenistan. The findings demonstrate that effective digital transformation requires not only technological integration but also changes in organizational culture, staff training, and sustainable practices.
