Colonialism by Other Means? On the Enduring Legacy and Moral Reprehensibility of Colonialism
摘要
In view of the issue of identity in the penultimate chapter, in the preceding chapter I shifted my focus to exploring the question of African identity vis-à-vis the distortion of African identity by colonialism and the negation of African identity by the metaphysical empire. The discussion revolved around the value of identity, that is how both mutual exclusivists and cultural appropriationists value identity albeit in different ways. And whether the original and authentic African identity that mutual exclusivists crave for or the mélange or mixed Euro-African identity cultural appropriationists defend is more realistic or morally tenable.
