This chapter translates the core principles of human–AI communication into practical techniques for interacting effectively with generative AI systems. It introduces a set of complementary communication strategies that support task execution, idea exploration, contextual alignment and collaborative dialogue. The chapter examines instructional communication for giving clear tasks, exploratory communication for thinking with AI, contextual framing and background provision, constraint-based guidance, multi-step and iterative interaction, management of tone and communication persona and multimodal communication strategies. Rather than presenting prompt templates or technical shortcuts, the chapter emphasises transferable communicative techniques that reflect how generative AI interprets meaning, context and intent. These techniques enable users to guide AI behaviour reliably while maintaining human agency, critical oversight and ethical awareness. Together, they form a practical toolkit for productive human–AI collaboration across everyday, professional and academic contexts, preparing the reader to recognise and address communication failures and misunderstandings explored in the following chapter.

摘要
