Digital transformation is reshaping how maintenance is conceived and managed, particularly in asset-intensive industries. Rather than resulting from isolated technological initiatives, industrial transformation increasingly depends on the deployment of digital maintenance strategies aligned with organizational and physical asset management objectives. This chapter adopts a conceptual and process-oriented synthesis based on the ISO 55000 series and the Maintenance Management Framework for Asset Management (MMFAM) to examine how digital strategies in maintenance can systematically enable industrial transformation. The discussion analyzes how digital capabilities can be developed across the five maintenance management processes. Supported by enabling Industry 4.0 technologies such as AI, digital twins, cloud computing, and immersive technologies, digital maintenance strategies enhance and extend the established strategic role of maintenance by strengthening digital capabilities across the asset life cycle. Finally, the chapter highlights that, when digital capabilities are properly aligned with organizational and asset management objectives, digital maintenance strategies reinforce strategic integration and enable industrial transformation.
