Adaptive Self-healing and Secure Routing Protocols for MANETs: A Novel Approach
摘要
Mobile ad hoc networks innate self-organizing abilities which makes them effective, robust and reliable for long haul communications across multiple service types. Ad hoc wireless networks are ideal under varying deployable scenarios where the fixed central nodes cannot be completely relied upon as the former is deployed in decentralized architecture. Mobile ad hoc networks enhance the scalability of the network in contrast to the wireless managed networks even these networks quickly integrate with already existing infrastructure-oriented network, thereby increasing the range of applications that are possible for various operational status. Standard network security techniques are inadequate in addressing the distinctive challenges of MANET security environments. Detection of attacks, jamming and techniques to mitigate jamming are limited due to constrained availability of processing power, memory capacity, limited availability of the bandwidth and sparse energy restrict the comprehensive implementation of security mechanisms. Continual advancement of network technologies with altered trust relationship amongst the nodes increases the complexity in the network which hinders the robustness and throughput. This research work advances upon the existing research in MANET security and routing protocols.
