As an introduction to this book, we challenge the idea that no scientific discourse can effectively reach out to the general public, teachers, school directors, technical and vocational trainers, educational professionals, policymakers, and scholars at the same time. We explain why we believe the opposite, especially for citizenship education as a domain of action research. We provide information of the book structure and different reading approaches it allows. We also discuss the research background and some key ethical and conceptual assumptions behind the overall book contents.

摘要

As an introduction to this book, we challenge the idea that no scientific discourse can effectively reach out to the general public, teachers, school directors, technical and vocational trainers, educational professionals, policymakers, and scholars at the same time. We explain why we believe the opposite, especially for citizenship education as a domain of action research. We provide information of the book structure and different reading approaches it allows. We also discuss the research background and some key ethical and conceptual assumptions behind the overall book contents.
