This chapter argues if academe as we know it under capitalism is winding down then the proper use of ChatGPT and other aides to writing instruction grounded in artificial intelligence must be considered in view of this. However, what academe looks like after the end of its current formation is to be determined. From this perspective, we as academics are dying together in an academic world nearing extinction. Whether or not the use of ChatGPT accelerates this extinction is unclear.
