This chapter asks that if the extinctionextinction of late academelate academe is something toward which we can and should work together, then what are the metrics of values that best contribute toward this extinction? It argues that the systemic reversibility of late academe provides academics with a ruler by which they can measure the value of their work. It allows them to tune out the noise of metrics of value that do not contribute to ending late academe. This is particularly important in the humanitieshumanities, the where the pernicious metrics of neoliberal academeneoliberal academe have come to dominate.
