The National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) aspires to fundamentally reconfigure the contours of Indian education by advancing a framework rooted in inclusivity, multidisciplinary engagement, and a forward-looking vision of institutional and intellectual preparedness. Legal education must align with this vision to address contemporary social and global challenges. This chapter explores three key dimensions: first, NEP’s potential to innovate legal education by emphasizing ethics, access and skill development beyond traditional academic models; second, its focus on technology integration, clinical education and interdisciplinary approaches to foster socially responsible lawyers; and third, strategies for democratizing legal education through geographic diversification, online delivery and support for marginalized communities. It advocates regulatory and institutional reforms promoting flexibility, learner-centered pedagogy and outcome-based education. The chapter concludes that embracing NEP’s agenda will prepare ethically grounded, technically proficient legal professionals equipped to advance justice and equity in the digital era.

摘要
