This chapter provides the conceptual groundwork for understanding the mediatization of political communication as a key process shaping contemporary political discourse on immigration. It argues that politics has become increasingly dependent on media logics, which structure not only the dissemination of information but also the forms, languages, and strategies through which political meaning is produced. Within this framework, the chapter examines key dynamics associated with mediatization—such as popularization, personalization, celebrity politics, disintermediation, and gamification—highlighting how they reshape political communication in attention-driven environments. It further explores emerging platform-specific languages, including visual communication and memetic practices, showing how these formats condense political messages into simplified, emotionally charged, and highly shareable content. The chapter also addresses the growing role of generative AI as a new communicative infrastructure that reconfigures political interaction and amplifies both opportunities and risks. Overall, mediatization is presented as a foundational condition that enables and structures the transformation of political discourse on immigration in digital environments.

摘要
