Occlusion of a prior bare metal iliac stent was treated with placement of a covered stent using open femoral artery access. The patient underwent simultaneous right common femoral endarterectomy for occlusion of the right common femoral artery. The patient had a prior failed left femoro-posterior-tibial bypass followed by multiple stents in the left SFA with reocclusion after 40 months, resulting in left below-knee amputation. Causes of early thrombosis and late occlusions of iliac stents are discussed.
