The most natural class of models for the Lambek calculus, according to its linguistic applications, is formed by models on algebras of formal languages, or L-models for short. While the Lambek calculus is known to be complete w.r.t. this class of models (Pentus 1995), its natural extensions are often incomplete. We give a survey of known (in)completeness results and present a couple of new ones.

摘要

The most natural class of models for the Lambek calculus, according to its linguistic applications, is formed by models on algebras of formal languages, or L-models for short. While the Lambek calculus is known to be complete w.r.t. this class of models (Pentus 1995), its natural extensions are often incomplete. We give a survey of known (in)completeness results and present a couple of new ones.
