Hernias are a common general surgery concern but can be both pathologically complex and debilitating to a patient. The writers of this chapter have experience at a tertiary hospital with a surgical team specializing in Abdominal Core Health that addresses and manages complex incisional ventral hernias requiring abdominal wall reconstruction. In this chapter, we will focus on complex abdominal wall reconstruction and the perioperative management of these patients as an advanced practice provider.
