Rubus guyanensis Focke is a high-altitude plant from Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, and northern Brazil. Rubus guyanensis is a species that is found in the high-altitude Andean forest. The author was unable to locate plants growing in the high-altitude Páramo above 3200 m. a. s. l. The author found this species in four different locations. It grows at 3100 m. a. s. l. (73°54′38″ W, 4°43′74″ N) next to the road that leads from La Calera, Cundinamarca State, to Chingaza National Park, Colombia. R. guyanensis was also found at 3100 m. a. s. l. (74°01′45″ W, 4°38′32″ N) in Verada el Verjón, near la Calera, Cundinamarca State, Colombia. It grows near the Paramó of Ocetá, Boyacá State, Colombia, at 3160 m. a. s. l. (72°47′31″ W, 5°44′51″ N). It also grows near Bucaramanga in Sevilla at Km 40, Santander State, Colombia. Finally, it was found growing near El Salto del Tequendama, Cundinamarca, Colombia, at 2452 m. a. s. l. (74°17′46″ W, 4°34′42″ N).
