Smart Door Locking System and Video Monitoring Using IoT

IoT-enabled systems provide enhanced security and operational efficiency. This paper discusses the development of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based security system that integrates door access control and real-time video monitoring using the ESP32 microcontroller and ESP32 Cam module. IoT refers to a network of interconnected devices capable of communication, data sharing, and remote control. In this work, IoT seamlessly integrates hardware components such as sensors, cameras, and microcontrollers, enabling real-time monitoring and control over the internet. The primary objective is to address the limitations of traditional security systems by utilizing IoT technology for remote door management and live video streaming. The ESP32 microcontroller serves as the central hub for controlling door locking and unlocking mechanisms. Combined with the ESP32 Cam module, the system captures and streams live video, ensuring real-time monitoring capabilities. A mobile application acts as the user interface, empowering users to manage access and monitor live video feeds remotely.
