Neopragmatism as a Theoretical Frame of Reference
摘要
Briefly summarized, neopragmatism can be understood as a synthesis of continental European philosophy of language and American pragmatism (Rorty, 2023). It thus offers connections and opportunities for further development that would be hard to imagine beyond this synthesis. Before we look at these connections and opportunities for further development, however, it is important to present neopragmatism’s central features (as we interpret them). This presentation is limited to those features necessary for a basic understanding and that will be incorporated into our further considerations. A more comprehensive overview can be found elsewhere (e.g. Barnes, 2008; Calder, 2003; Müller, 2021; Reese-Schäfer, 2016; Waal, 2022).
