The Politics of Health
摘要
This chapter deals with health as a political variable in Nigeria’s politics. It argues that health in Nigeria’s recent history has impacted the polity by altering the power equation in the country. The case of Presidents Ya’Adua and Buhari are underlined to drive home the point being made. Yar’Adua’s demise in office caused power to move to South in ways that upset the rotational principle. It is hinted that the speculated health complications of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC flag bearer, could produce the unintended effect of pushing power back to the North.
