Enhancing Longevity Research, Development, Education and Application Through Public Health and Research Policy
摘要
With the global population aging and the accompanying increasing burden of aging-related diseases and disabilities and their economic, social, and humanitarian costs, the importance of urgently advancing research, development, and distribution of therapies for the amelioration of degenerative aging processes and extension of healthy longevity, is becoming increasingly clear and accepted. Yet, the research and development of therapies for healthy longevity have not become a priority in any policy-making or societal framework anywhere in the world. This work will emphasize the need for more policy discussion and implementation to enhance healthy longevity R&D, education and application. It will outline some of the critical areas and questions of such policies, and discuss several directions for their development, based on past, present and emerging initiatives in prolongevity advocacy and policy making.
