Shaping a Sustainable Blue Economy for Inclusive and Resilient Coastal Futures
摘要
The concept of a sustainable blue economy offers a transformative pathway for coastal and marine regions, aiming to harmonize environmental stewardship, social inclusion, and economic development. As the pressures on ocean resources intensify (driven by climate change, pollution, overexploitation, and socioeconomic disparities), there is a growing need for integrated strategies that ensure long-term prosperity for both ecosystems and coastal communities. This chapter presents a comprehensive blueprint for building a sustainable blue economy that aligns conservation efforts with inclusive social policies and resilient economic practices. Through an interdisciplinary approach, the chapter outlines key pillars including ecosystem preservation, equitable participation, community-led innovation, and regionally adapted governance models. Emphasis is placed on empowering marginalized groups, including women, youth, and Indigenous communities, while leveraging blue finance mechanisms and clean technologies to unlock sustainable value chains. Real-world case studies and strategic frameworks are analyzed to highlight best practices and challenges in implementation across diverse geographic and sociopolitical contexts. By advocating for a systems-thinking approach that transcends siloed policy and economic development models, the chapter calls for collaborative leadership, adaptive regulation, and the strengthening of coastal resilience. Ultimately, this blueprint serves as a roadmap for governments, researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders seeking to cocreate a blue economy that is not only sustainable but also just, inclusive, and future-oriented.
