Giving Back
摘要
I benefited greatly from scholarships that enabled my university studies and exposed me to enriching experiences abroad during 1957–67. Since then, I have carried a lifelong desire to give back. This chapter describes how, many decades later, I established endowed scholarships, awards, and prizes at McGill (in science, music and religious studies) and at the University of Alberta (in science). In addition to honoring my parents and late wife Mary MysakMary Mysak, I have created two undergraduate awards in my name to recognize outstanding students studying climate science and music performance, topics very dear to my heart. Altogether, establishing these endowed awards and prizes has given me much fulfillment in supporting future generations of students.
