Integration of Metaverse and the STEM Approach to Support High School Children with Dyslexia
摘要
Dyslexia is an obstacle in children’s learning, which radically affects socioemotional and academic development in this first stage of a child’s schooling. This rigid review, based on the PRISMA protocol, analyzes the STEM Approach and the Metaverse as an advanced strategy for supporting high school children with dyslexia. Through research and analysis of reliable databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, SpringerLink and others, 20 relevant articles published between 2020 and 2025 were selected. The research shows that the effective way to enhance emotional development, comprehension, reading and writing skills is through the use of innovative technologies such as virtual reality and artificial intelligence. The most used technologies were virtual reality (40%) and Metaverse (20%). Similarly, in rural environments such as the Latacunga canton, it is essential to highlight the need for teacher training and equitable and free access to virtual environments. Virtual environments propose to associate learning with the Metaverse, since it favors multisensory stimuli, satisfies phonological awareness, motivation, emotions and concentration. The use of digital tools with inclusive policies and conditions represents a positive impact on the teaching and learning process (PEA), thus meeting the needs of children with dyslexia.
