Digital Technology in the Social and Solidarity Economy: A Catalyst for Inclusive Socio-Economic Transformation
摘要
Through a bibliometric analysis of English-language publications in Scopus, the objective of this research is to provide insight into the relationship between digital technologies and the social and solidarity economy (SSE) as it relates to inclusive socio-economic transformations. This relationship serves as a strategic paradigm shift in the digital age and, as such, the analysis includes a look at the following: leading countries; authors; journals; contributors; scientific collaboration; and dominant thematic clusters across all authors and journals within each country. The research began with an initial set of 21 papers, which were narrowed to 18 selected articles published between 2019 and 2025. Using a quantitative bibliometric method, VOSviewer and Bibliometrix were used to analyze the articles, with the goal of organizing and visualizing data. The analysis indicates that there is a significant gap in the current literature, and there are very few publications addressing this topic and specifically the transformational power of digital technology in terms of new business models within SSEs, and the actual impact of these business models will be on the socio-economics of the region. Additionally, the analysis identifies that the potential for the economic and social benefit from digital technology is substantial, and there are numerous opportunities to utilize technological innovation to enhance resilient, inclusive, and competitive SSEs. Lastly, the analysis suggests that future research should be interdisciplinary and global in scope, in order to illustrate the complex interactions of digitalization with social, economic, and cultural transformation for inclusive development.
