The foundational idea of the research work is to create a detailed vocabulary of India encompassing its past and present in a holistic manner and make it comprehensible and easily accessible via a digital medium and published medium as well. To begin with this ambitious and monumental task Delhi NCR, the largest metropolis, capital and ethnographically rich epicenter was chosen for a small scale demo and prototype. The work distinguishes itself from a typical tourism website because it provides curated information from valid resources – government data, publications, historical books, statistical reports etc. for sound data collection. The methodology followed is that of content curation from valid published literature and UI (User Interface) Design research which is a part of UX (User research methodology) research methodology. The design has been carried out on FIGMA for initial prototype design and testing with 30 participants between the age 16–35 years (40% male, 60% female) from Delhi NCR region. The usability testing was preliminary with 5 E’s of usability and System Usability Scale being employed after the participants have interacted with the FIGMA website prototype for - Web based comprehensive cultural vocabulary for Delhi. The work captures various essence of life of Delhi – History, trade, commerce, festivals, cuisine, culture, fashion, geography, climate, art, architecture, performing arts, urban centers, activities, central government and state government influence, infrastructure, transportation, industries, education, health and well-being, people and society, media, travel and tourism and much more detail. An in depth card sorting was carried out to develop categories after brainstorming to develop tabs and sub tabs with detailed information according to a vocabulary of a comprehensive documentation. The web based vocabulary tries to provide a valid source of information in digital media at first and published book as future research work output and pave way for comprehensive documentation of entire country to depict the nuances of past and present for contemporary readers, travellers, researchers, authors and knowledge seekers.
