Design and Analysis of Folding Bike
摘要
The design and analysis of a folding bicycle focuses on developing a compact, lightweight, and efficient personal transportation system suitable for urban environments. The primary objective of this project is to design a folding bike that offers ease of portability, structural strength, rider safety, and comfortable performance while minimizing storage space. The design process involves conceptual modeling, selection of suitable materials, and development of a folding mechanism that allows quick and secure transformation between riding and folded configurations. Structural analysis is carried out to evaluate stresses, deformation, and load distribution on critical components such as the frame, hinge joints, and locking mechanisms under static and dynamic loading conditions. Computer-aided design (CAD) tools are used to model the bicycle geometry, while finite element analysis (FEA) is employed to verify the strength and durability of the structure. The results demonstrate that the proposed folding bicycle design can safely withstand typical riding loads while maintaining structural integrity and user comfort. The study concludes that an optimized folding bicycle design can provide a sustainable, space-saving, and cost-effective solution for short-distance commuting, contributing to reduced traffic congestion and environmental impact in urban areas.
