There is no universally recognised definition of extremism in the world, however, current anti-extremist practices in different countries allow us to formulate a common approach based on the statement that extremism is an ideology and practice aimed at destroying existing socio-political systems and the values on which these systems are built. As different countries belong to different socio-political systems and profess different values, extremism has different connotations depending on the national or regional context. The same socio-political movement may be seen in some countries as systemic and in line with their values, while in others as anti-systemic and extremist.
