Help of Soviet Scientists to Chinese Colleagues at the Initial Stage of the Computer Era in China

Recent work in the history of computing published in English might lead scholars to believe that there was little worthwhile research of the influence of Soviet scientists on Chinese colleagues at the initial stage of the computer era in China. This article is devoted to the history of help of Soviet scientists such as Anatoly I. Kitov, Isaak S. Bruk, Sergey A. Lebedev, Nikolay A. Krinitsky and others to the Chinese colleagues. The article tells about influence of the first Soviet books in computer science and the first Soviet computers on achievements of Chinese scientists in the 1950s and 1960s. The article connects the first achievements of Chinese scientists in computer science and computer construction with the history of computing in the USSR.
