Social Communication Through Algorithms
摘要
“Social media” has become a misnomer for Instagram, TikTok, Twitter (X), and other algorithmic media services. These services have steadily declined in their ability to facilitate direct social communication, particularly as “influencers” come to dominate online audiences. This chapter explains how algorithmic media corrupts communication on “social media,” using the framework of enshittification and an associated theory of communicative structures.
