In recent decades, external shocks have become increasingly frequent and severe, underscoring the necessity for enhanced risk management during crises. Moreover, companies are confronted with the challenge of adequately hedging their risks, as insurance companies are increasing their premiums or discontinuing insurance coverage altogether as a result of the increase in disaster events. While the potential of resource sharing between companies has been identified in the literature as a strategy for overcoming these challenges, companies have so far exploited this potential only to a limited extent. Drawing on a literature review of 42 articles, we identified prerequisite for shared resources and formulated propositions on how companies can prepare for inter-firm resource sharing. This paper bridges the gap between the recognition of resource sharing as an effective risk management strategy by companies and the reluctance of companies to engage in such practices. To this end, the paper synthesizes and conceptualizes prerequisites for companies to prepare for resource sharing.

摘要
