Various approaches have been developed in this respect, with concepts such as the circular economy, green economy, and bioeconomy gaining prominence. Being particularly popular, circular economy and bioeconomy have been studied by researchers, implemented by industry players, and emphasized by governments. Each concept has unique traits, and it is significant to navigate their potential integrations into holistic approaches that involve diverse stakeholders and balances economic, social, and environmental sustainability. Supply chain management has a pivotal role to play in sustainability objectives. It is a key driver for the implementation of environmentally and socially responsible practices across business operations and is responsible for the physical movement of materials and goods. Analyzing circular bioeconomy through the lens of supply chain management enables and fosters understanding and implementing sustainable practices across industries. In particular, by addressing the entire lifecycle of products, stakeholders can identify opportunities for resource regeneration, waste reduction, and value creation, which aligns with sustainability goals. The goal of this research is to explore the integration of circular bioeconomy practice on supply chain management. This involves identifying current gaps between bioeconomy and circular economy approaches on supply chain management, understanding the interconnection between bioeconomy and circular economy, and developing applicable circular bioeconomy business models that can enforce supply chain sustainability.
