One of the goals of quality education is to increase the proportion of people who have reading and numeracy skills. Thus, the article presents an analysis of low results in terms of the ability to read, the ability to count, and the ability to have knowledge in the sciences. The analysis was conducted for young people aged 15 years. It was found that the share of young people aged 15 years who can read, count and have knowledge in the field of science has increased. Another analyzed indicator of the quality of education is early leaving the education and vocational training process. At the European Union level, for the year 2023, it was found that approximately 9.5% of people aged between 18 and 24 left school early. Basic digital skills are another indicator that influences both the quality of education and the degree to which people can get a job. This is especially so in the context where the number of jobs requiring digital skills is increasing on the labor market. It is found that in some countries more than half of the population aged 16 to 74 has at least basic digital skills. However, there are still countries where more than half of this population lacks basic digital skills.
