The supplier selection problem (SSP) is made up of complex aspects, requiring the use of robust methods to assist the decision maker. The objective of this study was to develop and apply a supplier selection model based on both quantitative and qualitative, and financial and non-financial criteria using, respectively, the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Although the research that address the use of TCO and AHP in supplier selection problems has grown exponentially, little has been made in terms of the integration of both methods. The model proposed here is structured in five stages which integrate both TCO and AHP. It was applied in the analysis of purchasing decisions in a food company. This model extends the literature on supplier selection problems and demonstrates the benefits of integrating TCO and AHP in such decision processes.

摘要
