Autonomic Dysreflexia
摘要
Autonomic dysreflexia is a life-threatening condition characterised by disordered sympathetic autonomic activity in response to a noxious stimulus. It typically occurs in patients with a spinal cord injury at the level of T6 or above. The mainstay of treatment for autonomic dysreflexia is removal of the trigger, followed by pharmacological intervention in the form of sublingual nifedipine, a calcium-channel antagonist. Common side effects include headache, dizziness and flushing.
