Toward Green Cloud Security: Data-Driven Threat Detection with Computation-Aware Scheduling
摘要
Cloud computing has revolutionized digital infrastructure by enabling scalable, on-demand services. However, the growing reliance on cloud platforms has introduced significant security challenges, as well as increased energy consumption. Traditional intrusion detection systems (IDS) focus primarily on threat detection accuracy, often overlooking the associated computational and energy costs. This paper proposes a new framework that integrates data-driven threat detection with computation-aware scheduling to enhance security and sustainability in cloud environments. We comprehensively review state-of-the-art IDS models and energy-aware resource management techniques, identify key gaps, and conceptualize an architecture that balances detection performance with energy efficiency. By aligning cloud security mechanisms with green computing principles, our framework aims to reduce the environmental footprint of cloud-based security systems while maintaining high resilience against cyber threats. This work sets the foundation for future research on secure and sustainable cloud computing infrastructures.
