Sustainable Security for IoT Networks: Leveraging Edge and Cloud Computing for Energy-Efficient Cyberattack Management

The rapid expansion of Internet of Things (IoT) networks has introduced massive cybersecurity challenges that demand innovative management strategies, this study examines the collaborative use of Edge Computing and Cloud Computing to enhance and improve security in IoT environments while Cloud Computing offers, provides powerful data processing and large scale analytics, the edge Computing provides immediate, localized responses essential and important for real-time threat mitigation, this paper analyzes the advantages and limitations of each approach and proposes a hybrid architecture that leverages their combined strengths. Additionally the integration of Green IT principles is demonstrated to showing how processing data closer to the source reduces and lowers energy consumption and promotes a more sustainable IoT ecosystem. the proposed solution improves both the efficiency of threat detection and the overall energy footprint, contributing to a secure and eco-friendly IoT infrastructure in our life.
