Perturb and Observe Optimization for Distance Protection Relay in Transmission Lines

The objective of this work is to detect the fault detection practically, this paper describes the creation of distance relay to identify the Fault in overhead lines and choose the problem location over the length. A classical perturb and observe (P & O) optimization technique has been adopted for fault detection in the three zones, the code of this technique uploaded on Arduino Mega kit. A prototype has been designed and implemented to study the fault cases. The results represent the fault impedance values in each zone at different types of fault (line to ground and line to line) faults. Findlay it has been concluded that the smallest impedance value occurred in line to ground R-G inside zone one.
