Behaviours and Emerging Technologies: The Potential Impacts of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Virtual and Augmented Realities

Educational behaviours of all those involved in educational practice are being seen to be influenced and affected by emerging technologies. In the case of artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI (GenAI), uses are affecting behaviours that involve more questioning approaches and concerns about privacy. Robotics are opening up avenues for enhancing some social behaviours. Virtual and augmented realities are enhancing behaviours where greater visualisation and width of perspectives are sought. Whilst there are existing reported effects of these emerging technologies on learning behaviours, it is also clear that they may also be affecting teachers, parents and guardians, and adviser and policy makers in their teaching, support and guidance behaviours.
