Platforms and Tools for Educational Video Games – А Literature Review
摘要
Adopting game-based learning as an approach to increase motivation and engagement among students requires affordable software platforms and tools for the effective and easy design and development of educational video games, both by IT professionals and teachers. The paper presents a survey of the existing literature on tools and instruments for creating educational video games. The study focuses on conducting an in-depth analysis of scientific papers in this area and identifying the popular methods and tools for modeling and creating such games. The paper describes the research conducted, including the research methodology used and the application of the analyses to achieve the paper’s goal. The study’s results and the interpretation of these findings will contribute to answering the research questions posed. The paper’s ultimate goal is to apply these outcomes in our future work on creating intelligent tools and platforms for personalized and adaptive video games in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education.
