Participation of Diverse Social Groups with Special Requirements in Developing an Inclusive Art Software
摘要
To achieve digital diversity and reduce the risk of a digital divide, diverse social groups that are often overlooked in the commercial digital landscape such as children, the elderly and people with cognitive disabilities must be included in the digital world. In this context, the necessity of appropriately adapted and customised digital formats is highlighted. The artistic-practical requirements of the software must be defined by the target groups themselves, rather than being solely determined by programmers. The project “ArtEater im Livetest (AiLT)” presented here develops a creative, digital drawing and editing software that was originally developed to encourage the participatory inclusion of elementary school children. For digital inclusion, the software is tested and further developed in various inclusive educational settings. The aim of the project is to create a user-friendly creative module that takes all users into account by involving target groups that have so far received little attention (primary school children, people with cognitive impairments and senior citizens) in software development in a participatory way.
