Exploring the Knowledge Structure of Primary School Students Using Word Association
摘要
Word association is one of the most widely used methods. It is excellent for mapping conceptual systems and their changes in the context of classroom instruction. It can be used to investigate the relationship between the concepts of individual learners or groups of learners on a given topic. It can provide an In-sight into the structure of learners’ knowledge. Word association can be used to find out which words a learner knows or thinks about. The associative meaning of concepts can be used to get an up-to-date picture of the structure of learners’ knowledge. It may also be useful to examine the associations learners have with a particular topic before and after learning a particular lesson. Our study focuses on the examination of concepts related to the topic of global problems. We use a word association method to investigate the knowledge structure of primary school pupils’ knowledge of global problems.
