With the growing availability of different additive manufacturing methods, it is of great importance to integrate these technologies into our education system. However, as with every change, there are many open questions as to how to implement them in the most efficient and senseful way. The aim of this paper is to provide general directions for educators planning to use 3D printing. The information provided in this paper is based on a combination of other scientific papers and our own experience with the implementation of additive manufacturing at HTL Wels and HTL Linz.
