Teaching Approach on Primary Heat Concepts for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (Level 1) Using Animated Interactive Videos
摘要
The use of modern technology, focused in the field of natural sciences, adopting learning environments of multiple virtual and sensory representations, becomes particularly interesting when addressed to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder through inclusively oriented educational activities. In this light, an educational digital software of an interactive animation video of game-based learning was designed, developed and implemented with the aim of teaching primary heat concepts using cooperative models between typical developing students and students with ASD of the 5th and 6th grades, while at the same time involving them in hands on activities. The results of the research highlighted the positive contribution of the specific digital tool on the one hand, to the more essential understanding of heat concepts and on the other hand to the cultivation of the deficient social characteristics of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
