Blockchain Technology: Principles and Applications in Healthcare
摘要
Blockchain is an innovative technology that can potentially address certain of the most significant problems that the healthcare sector is grappling with, such as patient empowerment, transparency, interoperability, and data security. This chapter address the principles of blockchain technology, its major aspects, and how it can be used in healthcare. To illustrate how blockchain can guarantee integrity, security, and trust in health data management, the chapter introduces a discussion on the principle of decentralized ledger, hashing, a consensus mechanism, and smart contract. One of the spheres of blockchain application with available case studies is pharmaceutical supply chain management, which allows, according to case studies, to benefit the business in real terms by preventing fraud, tracking prescription requests, and putting the patient in the control of their own data. In addition to this the chapter further explores the research opportunities that are currently being pursued including the application of blockchain with artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) in conjunction with precision and personalized medicine, and federated learning to offer decentralized healthcare analytics. The general adoption trends across the world and the pilot projects that are currently in operation are also examined to find out future opportunities and challenges. Lastly, this chapter offers an understanding of how blockchain is utilized in healthcare reformation, and the way it can be used to turn digital health environments into a reality. And finally there is the concept, which is the blockchain, and this notion will form the inception of healthy and transparent and patient-cantered health care system in order to build the ecosystem of global trust and to build the medical services.
