Distributed Artificial Intelligence for Cybersecurity in Internet of Things: A Survey

The Internet of Things (IoT) has revolutionized numerous industries by enabling device interconnection, facilitating real-time data exchange, and enhancing automation. As IoT adoption continues to expand, ensuring its security has become a critical concern. Traditional security solutions have proven inadequate in addressing the unique challenges of IoT, including its decentralized nature, resource constraints, and large-scale deployment. Current standards often fail to provide the robust protection needed for sensitive data and critical infrastructure. This survey emphasizes the necessity of incorporating Distributed Artificial Intelligence (DAI) to enhance IoT security. By leveraging Distributed Artificial Intelligence techniques, it is possible to develop more scalable, adaptive, and resilient security solutions. The primary objective of this survey is to explore existing Distributed Artificial Intelligence approaches, assess their effectiveness, and highlight future directions for integrating Distributed Artificial Intelligence in IoT cybersecurity frameworks.
